About Me

My photo
I work abstractly and non-linearly – however, my designs do have trends over time, usually with the goal of delaying recognition so a photograph may better dialogue with its viewer, free of labels. Recent techniques have included seeing without gravity, designing in soft focus, and using shapes to continue the photograph beyond the physical frame. My photographs reflect a more prosaic approach to photographic seeing ~ a fascination with the everyday, a preoccupation with the vernacular, an "ordinary," rather than an "extraordinary" vision. I value finding my ideal of beauty and decorum in nature and the simple life. There may be other, more descriptive or poetic words that may be used to define the “pattern” that connects the images, but the simplest meta-pattern is this: I take snapshots of moments in time and space in which a peace washes over me, and during which I sense a deep interconnectedness between my soul, the moment and the everyday world around me. My current projects are polar opposites, evolving abstract design in both natural and urban environments.

Why do I create art? Part II

I feel that life is already so hard and tough and we all need a relief from that constant journeys of highs and lows..When I put on the News.. all i see is Death, Destruction, Corruption, Murders,Abuse,Hunger,Starvation,Famine,Floods,
Global warming,Terrorism,Mutant diseases and on the flip side I see Industrialists of Incalculable wealth and places so lost in time..Internet billionaires that remind us how you could have an insane amount of money at 21, FB in question!!..Celebrities that have a lifestyle of the rich and Famous (Paris Hilton thought that cocaine was gum!!..While she make about gazillions of $$$$)..somehow makes our daily existence feel so small and limited at times..

I feel art really is timeless; it cuts through boundaries, races, countries, mindspaces, stereotypes, money, class, etcetra etcetra etcetra..It represents solace and beauty-- an oasis where people can escape from the stresses and pressures of daily life.

Art promises us that the future will be a brighter Tomorrow-- it always has and it always will. It represents talent, brilliance, genius, vision, and the materialization of hope, faith, and the courage of conviction.

No matter what happens out there, great art has always had the power to re energize, to reinvigorate, and even to heal.

Ultimately and above all, it offers the promise that at some point in the not-to-distant future, everything will be well once again and that with the passage of time, we will unquestionably recover what we only temporarily have misplaced.

How strange it is, that in spite of being a good artist, you still have questions that your art already provides answers to.

Always "remember" - absolute faith brings brings absolute freedom.

Its OK to have doubts and questions, those thoughts then make up for the rich plethora of thoughts, that inspire the art. The journey of the seeker makes a richer journey. You must however seek a sense of calm while you travel / tread this path.

I have my own reservations on absolute faith, so won't comment on that one. Keep walking Siddhartha

Anon..Maybe so..Maybe I am still figuring it out..Maybe it all goes with the landscape of doubt and confusion..Maybe as you said earlier that its better to do things when you are not complelled to do them..so I think we are humans and sometimes we have our fralities and consistency in thought for me is not one of them..

success is in the heart, all the luxury and fame in the world is an empty grey space if you are not happy...(from the experience of living with the ugliest images that money has to offer)... lying under the stars...and also some kind of mind altering substance helps along the way i favour caffeine and alcohol..also last anon your words are a bit harsh for my liking!!!

Gosh, there are too many anons here, just when I thought I would be the only one to remain like that. Here is the last bit to the author of this blog - have a goal, and never take your eye of that goal, on the way you will people, thoughts, feelings, incidents, that pull you down, you may or may not be affected, you may have doubts or no doubts, you may question a few things here and there, BUT, never question that goal! Now that goal, could be anything, spiritual, material, art anything, we may not even be able to express ityet, but never lose sight and have faith in where you are headed. That's all.
Am out of here, or this anon stuff is getting to confusing!
